The immigrant’s hardship/Carlos Pueblo
There are
reasons why people immigrate to the other country and most of all
they are
looking for a better life for themselves and their children. I know that
immigrants
return to their native countries due to the hardship to prevent them
to stay,
i.e., in the United States, the most desired nation for the entire world.
I can
understand two of the reasons added to the hardship and eventually make
their return,
one is unable to have Medicare coverage and the other one is too
lonely to
stay in this country.
Many
immigrants are well established in their own countries and for some reasons
they have
immigrated to this country. They don’t have to work to earn enough
credit of
working years to have the eligibility to have Medicare benefit after age
65. There is
no other health insurance on the market available after such age which
Is a risk
that nobody likes to take. Unless, you are at the poverty level and can be
covered under
Medicaid, a kind of welfare program that you can’t own too much
cash and
property, etc.
The second
reason is too lonely or boring at the old age because the language barrier.
If we don’t
have enough command of English, we are not going to enjoy our life in
the American
society. You are going to suspicious that American is discriminate you
in every
possible way; therefore, you are lonely after the children are gone to have
their own
life.
This problem
is only for rich immigrants who have the luxury to complain about such
Reasons.
Most of the immigrants have to work hard to make a day and support their
family and
consequently, they make it to the Medicare and practice enough English
while
working and get by the necessity of English language. I firmly believe that we
must well
prepare and work to be beneficial for ourselves and our children.
