Michelle’s new investment of Austin real estate/Carlos
Pueblo
Our daughter
Michelle informed her mother that she just made an offer for a
duplex in
Austin near the campus tennis courts. She took Amy for a look outside
of the house
and the outlook of the subdivision. The seller made a counter offer
and she
accepted it. The house is located on a lot of ¼ acres with two units of
850 square
feet each currently leasing to two separate tenants families. She tells
me that her
heavy down payment will slightly less that her mortgage and real
estate tax
obligation; however, in 15 years she would pay off the loan and expect
an increase
of value of the house. She also explains why she must engage into
the housing
market instead of the security due to her nature of job sensitivity of
stocks
purchase and I understand. We’re so proud of her with such a wonderful
financial
planning.
She is a
good example of my theory of immigration, holding her opportunity as
a second
generation of immigrant by studying and working hard in her young
life with
saving habit that propel her to exceed her parents. We didn’t give her
any of funds
at all yet we have observed her success both at work and in invest-
ment.
I say
enviously that her achievement is beyond my imagination as her father and
Insurance agent.
Her success is really a step by step under the good system of the
U.S.
systems. Of course I love to take some credit of her success, i.e. no college
loans to
her, no BMW loan after her first job except continuing her college Honda
and later a
Toyota, and inviting her to stay with us while leasing her two small
Austin
houses, etc.
Her bosses
at her department, two of them, obtain more than 15 houses in cities
Like New
York and Miami area and her aunt, Amy’s sister, has monthly rental income
more than ten
thousand dollars. Those are her role model and she like to have such
asset for
her retirement. I like to see this kind of success story now a day instead of
misery and
blame of someone at fault for their unjust.
I do mention
that my adopted daughters on board of cruise ships. They work very
hard and
supposed to save some money like Michelle because of room and board
coverage
from the company and I like to share with them for the experience. I
love to see
those youngsters to make if successfully in their life.
