準備旅行 /莊峻華

過半夜醒來，原來耽心兩項旅社訂約，我抵達阿根廷和日本，時間均

需加上一日，這次定玩一日後，馬上更正，損失有現，比起去年秋天

日本行幸運，上次是錯了兩次，損失較大，問題是我之頑冥不堪，尚

未完全學乖。連續之一年，我將有五次旅行，除了華府追櫻行外，其

於四次旅行，都需要準備，好的是現在網路方便，容易解決疑惑。

我在網路旅行社，訂下首日床位，結果越想越錯，連忙再查一遍，抵

達日期，果然是過一日到達，連忙半夜電話給旅行社，美國人很會生

意，24小時服務，這位薩爾瓦多職員曰，印度和菲律賓電話服務中心

，仍然存在，我一天收到兩三次廣告，效率無窮，約是幾秒內，更正

包括新定取消等，一氣喝成，退款也是幾分鐘內，我之原定是，布宜

諾斯‧艾利斯一夜，東京三夜，金額不大，薩爾瓦多職員，非常誠懇

，令我印象深刻。

我開始準備到哪裡玩？先是依垮芝大瀑布，飛機票很貴，令我駐足，

我開車經過尼加拉瓜瀑布，非常經濟，美加兩國，維持瀑布美觀，下

次我再安排一次，開車旅行，可以包括加州那爬谷葡萄園，也比到滿

都薩葡萄園便宜，這是阿根廷東部安德斯山脈，與智利接近，也是飛

機票貴，下次有機會到智利旅行，再行安排。

一月中日本三週行，主要是受到一旅行社之，日本冬日風景所吸引，所

以我再像此美國日本旅行社，買下三週日鐵車票，準備在東京，請教兩

日本友人，從仙台市附近，考察荒城古蹟，然後到秋田，經日本海岸線

南下，這是有歌為證之旅行，森昌子之悲傷之日本海本線，當然還有五

能線，也是一首歌，水森香子名曲，應該是在本州西北角落，秋田和青

森之間，此行惟恐無法到達。我要從秋田南下，經過出雲市，就是新日

本海軍戰艦命名城市，再到下關，博多，休市之重光兄有推薦新瀉。然

後就是九州四國，時間足夠否？要請較日本當地人。

兩次歐洲行，四月和九月，已經購妥機票，馬上需要安排歐洲當地機票

，因為哩術優待，即將過期，我吝嗇成性，不想浪費，所以旅行像是，

疲於奔命，需要維持身體健康，精神愉快。

早上散步回家，連忙上樓處理散後，誤植旅行澳洲機票取消罰款問題，

美航職員收到$150後，立刻退還七萬五千哩數，好讓我購買五萬哩數

，來回機票到阿根廷，罰款是因為前日訂完墨爾本機票，回程日應是

今年十二月，粗心大意，弄成明年一月，等到準備訂旅舍才發現，經

美航職員解救無效，只好先在昨日取消，早晨散步，鄰居告知，阿根

廷入境，可憑機票護照費用過關，安德魯‧羅德‧韋伯，有一暢銷名

曲，莫為我哭泣阿根廷，是我最喜歡歌曲之一，許多旅行，都是聽歌

弦音，美夢成真。第二張來回機票，是三週日本旅行，這是明年一月

中旬開始，然後是四月和九月，兩次郵輪渡過大西洋之歐洲行，還有

賸下三萬哩數，明年十月，就可買張機票到東京，坐火車穿過俄羅斯

，再從西班牙，搭船回休市。

 阿根廷和巴拉圭邊界，有一福爾摩莎省，有一國立福爾摩莎大學，與

我故鄉國立虎尾科技大學同英文名，我將安排照張相片留念。最近，

日本經驗旅行社，寄來日本冬景相片，金閣寺雪景等，說不定我能遇

上，我終於發現，小時候之埔里虎尾街景，故鄉回憶，都可以在日本

鄉下重溫舊日美憶，我應該重拾日語教科書，一生懸命。

應該有三次機會，重返歐洲，可以坐火車，到處旅行，回家或在船上，

寫下一百篇遊記。

Thank you for your response so fast. After visiting to my eye doctor

this morning, I went ahead to schedule my hostel arrangement in

Melbourne. I found out that my schedule was wrong and was in 

conflict with my Tokyo trip, my actual time of returning would be on

01/19/2016 instead of 12/19/2015. This error will cost me $150 to

cancel and buy back my miles according to AA rules. I have been bothered

by this mistake for a day and after thoroughly thinking it over, I decide to

try Buenos Aires, Argentine for the buy back mileage with some left over

miles to apply for another one way ticket back from Europe in June, 2017.

I am getting better in this business of free mileage.

American banks, especially Citi and Chase, are very good in business.

They have contracts with two big airlines, UA and AA, for credit card

business, for example, now I use Chase card first for mileage. I can apply

my credit card points to UA and AA mileage accounts to buy free tickets.

Those mileage account were set up when I applied new credit cards, it

was a promotion. Come to think about it, UA and AA do not lose money

at all because they only release vacant seats, for instance, when I went

back to Taiwan one time from Hawaii, more than half of the airplane was

empty.

If I don't use the mileage in my account, I shall loose it or I can buy some

newspaper or magazine with the mileage. This is why I book them as early

as possible with a risk of my negligent. From now on, UA and AA know their

business to the orient will be busy and that is why I cannot get the economic

saver rate seat to Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Tokyo, and even Sydney

, Melbourne etc.

I have some other mileage accounts and some bank cards points for domestic

flight or hotel stay which I am not quite familiar with. I shall look into it later.

I have both cataracts removed now and my eyes vision are 20/20 as the nurse

checks it except for reading, I don’t read very much now a day. I can see the

computer screen clear enough for not wearing the reading glasses. I am going

to buy a $7 pair of reading glasses very soon.

前日閒來無事，加上左眼病癒，我開始準備旅行，因為有些航空哩數

，有時間限制，所以我在電腦上搜尋，先是日本台灣行，結果聯航和

美航，均無廉價哩數機票，於是我開始緊張，我又不願花$25讓航空

公司找，台北又有住之問題，於是我又繼續找其他國家，夏威夷和日

本也無此類機票，終於找到澳洲墨爾本，買下墨爾本，我又買下明年

一月之日本，和一特殊海空並進之兩次歐洲行，結果忙中有錯，澳洲

行錯了一個月，損失$150，取消後買回哩數，於是我開始遷怒澳洲，

準備到阿根廷。

這澳洲和日本行，衝突在一月中旬，這是賽後諸葛馬後礮，如果不衝

突，我可以設法在澳洲多流浪一個月，因為衝突，所以忍痛賠款，又

安慰自己，我的無中生有，也會有中變無。

幾日前，富國銀行，仍不死心，繼續寄來電子郵件廣告，要我開設一

支票帳戶，兩個月內使用十次提款信用卡，然後每個月，帳戶維持一

千五百元，可以免月費，再贈送一百美金，莫以錢少而不拿，不拿白

不拿，現在銀行無利息，股票也有崩盤期，所以一切都也是無，就是

沒有，不是道德經之無，也不是金剛經之，所言即是，就是這一百元

，要幫忙賠我之忙中有錯一百五十元，然後再安慰自己之疏忽。

阿根廷機票稅，少澳洲七十元，哩數少兩萬，當然簽證要錢，我要繼

續原諒自己，下次再找機會到澳洲旅行。

昨日為看眼科醫生日，凌晨我就送琳兒到機場，回家後更衣整裝，就

開車到堪博路診所，愛美跟著要順便拿新配眼鏡，其實我們都很感激

柯培爾醫生之仁心仁術，前後看我12次，終於有結案之一日。我是在

手術後第55日，左眼置放隻小氣泡始消失，於是我就連忙買機票，準

備出外旅行，結果還是忙中有錯，愛美要親自問醫生，我是否可旅行？

眼科醫生之護士，跟著醫生四處門診，此診所離我家較近，約六哩路。

護士問我門診目的，我答約醫生想了結此案病例，於是進入糖尿病眼

視網膜血糖晶體追蹤，這位護士醫學知識豐護，答覆我一些服藥問題，

很令我滿意，例如，內科醫生有一處方，說是該微量藥片，目的在保

護腎臟，我連續手術三次，每次手術麻醉床前，三位手術房資深護士

，都需要查證服藥紀錄，三位都說該藥，有治高血壓之用，於是我開

始懷疑，內科醫生隱瞞我有高血壓症，有位女醫生，甚至要我服用，

嬰兒阿斯比靈藥片，因有稀釋濃血作用，當然手術前停止服用。這位

眼科護士說明該藥片，是醫生給糖尿病患微量，以保護糖尿病藥物，恐

將損壞腎臟用，也有治高血壓之功能，一般無高血壓糖尿病患者，醫生

也要患者服用，以保護腎臟，這和我內科醫生說明一致。

我發現此護士，就是我眼科病例之主筆者，難怪報告，如此迅速，她

很仔細和我討論，我糖尿病之數據，我不每日驗血，每三個月抽血一

次，我回曰害怕看到血，她建議要愛美刺手指，我轉首他顧，於是我

又搬出身體髮膚，受之於父母，不敢輕易毀傷那一段，於是愛美在旁

微笑曰找藉口，當然護士不解我知翻譯子曰道理。

我的左右眼遠視力，是20/20，這在17歲，可以上空軍飛校學開噴射

機，而且年老後，也不看書，所以我要求護士，給我老花眼度數，她

要我帶手術前眼鏡來，說是我約250度就可以，我口袋有一筆型老花

眼鏡，是225度，確實不若原配眼鏡清楚，以後我之老邁眼睛，就是

琳兒公司新生訓練之墨鏡，和美金七元之一般老花眼鏡即可。

柯培爾醫生很幽默，一直問我開刀是左眼，或是右眼，然後才開始診

斷，有時候走出房間再回來，說畢他事，需要再看一次，例如拆線問

題，這是第一位眼醫之職責，我又回診斷椅，他又問哪一眼？這次檢

查，已經開始檢查右眼，掃眼瞄已經是雙眼，我覺得此醫生，非常仔

細，他不作近視雷射治療，他說白內障，已經夠忙。

Small backyard grows some fruit trees and vine squash, spring blooming

and fall harvest, all following different seasons. I spread some Taiwanese

squash on a small vegetable lot near the southern side fence next to the

neighbor. The other day, Amy cleaned some dry vine and found several

eatable squashes hiding behind some bushes, some were too old which

we could save for the seeds of next spring. The tangerine tree is next to

the vegetable lot with plenty of fruits ready to be picked up. We don’t have

a good year for the California Meyer lemon, only one small one left.

Quava is gone during the summer due to the squirrel. There are six trees

along the fence.

Tangerine and lemon were planted by the previous owners. Quava were

trans plant by me as a gift from Mr. Chen, my tennis partner. Quava is a

sub-tropical fruit and a favorite in Taiwan and the only problem is during

the freezing temperature during the winter. Mr. Chen’s quava are native

species with a unique fragrance yet small in size. The popular kind quava

sold on the oriental supermarket cost $4 a pound. All fence area with our

neighbors are covered by tall trees; therefore, smaller fruit trees must fight

for the sunshine. We let the squash vine climbs into the small pines and fence

for survival. We can see the yellow flower after the late spring.

I also plant some tomato and cucumber in several pots. In 90 days I shall have

my harvest. This year I follow the rule to keep tomato blooming under 74

degree in order to have fruits. Cucumber and tomato are also with yellow flower.

I am now enjoying my persimmon harvest. I pick them in the fall and make dry

persimmon. I don’t have enough this year yet I have plenty ripe fruits to last

for weeks. Next harvest will be tangerine, after that, shall be tomato and cucumber

until the end of the year.

小庭院植有瓜果，春華秋實，順其自然。愛美整理菜瓜藤，無意間

拾起三粒菜瓜，正在猶疑，是否應該清理亂局，好讓小黃瓜盆，依

籬笆攀藤，我有20小盆番茄，小黃瓜，正待有發展之處，而且均已

花開。菜瓜藤旁，就是碰乾株，雖遭松鼠襲擊多次，仍有許多，掛

在樹枝上。

前屋主人，喜歡植樹，小庭院四週，種滿高樹，遮著陽光，很難開

闢菜圃，但確留有一小塊，車庫背後，為香楓，橘樹，和三鄰居橡

樹蔭覆蓋，於是我灑台灣菜豆和菜瓜應付，為增取陽光，兩爬藤均

上籬笆，菜瓜更上小株景松，菜瓜藏在葉叢內，秋收後清藤，拔出

菜瓜婆，收拾瓜子，明年春天播種，年復一年。

 橘科兩株，均為前人所遺，檸檬今年欠收，株在盆中，無處可遷移，

盆處地下，恐有烤肉瓦斯管，真是投鼠忌器。果實成熟時，呈金黃色

，掛在樹枝上，美國家庭，庭院有地，開始種果樹，枇杷，梨，無花

果，橘科等，現在受東方移民影響，開始有柿，番石榴，木瓜，芒果

等，許多台灣越南家庭，甚至有成功之菜圃，我吃過番薯葉，菜豆，

和菜瓜等，雖然我自己種，但均未有收穫。

每年我都到朋友家採柿，處理完生柿，我就出國旅行。去年秋天，我

旅行到日本國中心，經過幾處老街，庭院中有許多乾柿，掛在落葉枝

上，日本四季分明，秋天頗有肅殺之意，許多老鎮老街巷道，都已經

是觀光景點，很像過去之故鄉，秋天真令人思念故鄉，不是說，懷君

屬秋夜乎？

I went to visit my old client on my way back from persimmons picking.

We all are very exciting and expecting that in January next year voters

Of Taiwan will vote Chinese Nationalist out of Taiwan politic. After

The mandate of Democratic Progressive Party in both the president and

Legislative Yuan, the congress, the new president will initiate amendments

of laws approved by the congress to authorize the resolution right of voters

to determine their own future and abolish any party sign of the Chinese

Nationalist away from the national flag, national anthem, and military

uniforms, etc. Taiwan is not owned by Chinese Nationalist, Chinese Kuomington

Party.

Chinese Nationalist Party is at the end of its destiny, like the Manchu Dynasty,

no more martyr to shed blood or army coup d’etat. The only left party cadres

are thieves and thugs. Throughout 70 years of Chinese Nationalist rule, Taiwan

has produced many pragmatic administrators through their training at  local and

central government, a brief 8 years under President Chen, 2000-2008 and that is

the reason why the Democratic Progressive Party has taken a landslide victory

since 2014. Let me count them throughout the island by DPP administrative

experience, Ilan prefecture on the north east at least 28 years, City of Kaohsiung

17 years, City of Tainan 12 years, Pingtung prefecture 16 years, Chia Yi prefecture

13 years, and my home Yunlin prefecture 9 years, all with clean record and that

Is the reason of a landslide to add additional Chia Yi city, Chang Hwa prefecture,

City of Taichung, Hsin Chu city, City of Tao Yuan, Gee Lung city, of course, the

Capital city of Taipei, Mayor Ko has been help by DPP voters to take the city. We

believe that DPP will take the next election.

Since 2008, I have been experience two magistrate elections of Yun Lin prefecture

and each of them has won by DPP, the beginning of DPP rule. With such fine

administrative experience, many local Chinese Nationalists start to move closer to

DPP and abandon their party logo, even my hometown, Huwei township, the mayor

is a DPP for the first time in history, he has been re-elected for the second  four years

term.

OK, I decide to go back to vote for the new president of Taiwan. I shall do my voter

registration next week and wait for my eye surgeon’s approval for air travelling.

我到客戶店裏拜訪，談論台灣政治，大家都非常興奮期待，明年一月

，台灣選民，即將授權民進黨執政，我形容像是推翻滿清王朝，趕國

民黨下台，新政府上任後，可以漸次修法，讓人民有表示異見之機會，

終究上以選票決定，國家定位，投票推翻中華民國，國旗國歌軍隊等，

都不准用國民黨黨徽。

國民黨氣數已盡，再也沒有黃花崗72烈士，可以拋頭顱，灑熱血，都

是一群雞鳴狗盜之徒，台灣真需要有重生之機會，台灣地方政治，已經

開始復甦，從高雄台南屏東宜蘭開始許多年，雲林八年嘉義十二年，民

進黨執政，已經看到顯著績效，現在台北台中桃園基隆新竹等市，都是

民進黨和柯文哲執政，面目一新，台灣選民，眼睛雪亮。

這幾年，我常回台灣玩，尤其幾次遇到選舉，在虎尾觀看兩次縣長選舉，

有些心得，連虎尾鎮長，都已經由民進黨執政，現在怕者為國民黨人，黨

候選人，早已拋棄黨徽，縣議員鄉鎮長候選人，都和蘇治芬李進勇靠攏，

國民黨落衰很久矣。

好，我就此決定，明天開始辦理登記投票，選舉台灣總統，提早旅行夏威

夷日本，再回虎尾觀察選戰，海線立委和總統局。

I went to pick persimmons this morning. I have been picking persimmons

every year since the 90’s which gives me very much pleasure. I am looking

like a kid working on the fruit trees on the yard back homes in Taiwan.

This year is with low harvest due to several reasons, raining in wrong seasons

, power company trims some branches which reach the power line, and a

year of low pollination.

I check on both trees, one with a heart shape fruit has nothing left and the other

one flat size fruit with some left on the garage roof. What I have done picking is

put the ladder on the garage and use a pool to hook the branch closed to me.

The average weight per fruit from this tree is about 10 ounces and I have picked

40 today in compare with previous years, this is a low harvest.

I plan to treat the fruit with apple in a closed ice box, no refrigeration , until

It becomes soft. I don’t have enough to make dry persimmon his year.

I went to visit three places on my way, an old classmate at junior high, an

old client’s gift whole sales shop, and a sunglasses importer. Old classmate

has sold his washeteria and retired; we discussed religion at the gift shop

and finally I found some glasses for far sight eyes in the future.

左眼手術未癒，無法搭機旅行，只好退一步想，已經可以開車，到

過銀行，球場，馬槪，下一步就是採柿，我連續到朋友家採柿好幾

年，因為樹高大，需要採收幾次，今年稍異，開花時間雨多，結果

期間雨少，加上電力公司修枝，修掉一大半，另外一株，結果少，又

有人捷足先登，已經一粒不存，我很熟練架梯上車庫，採下四十粒。

這四十粒是扁型甜柿，需要處理，否則艱澀，過去幾年，我一採都是

上百粒以上，一粒逼近十盎司，十二盎司是一磅，另外一株也澀，是

心型甜柿，北郊明雄兄府，也有一株，今年也無剩柿可送人。

愛美錢多，幾天前買一粒日本富有柿曰，一磅$2.99，我聽聞下，真是

是可忍，熟不可忍？於是決定採柿去也。四十粒柿，約佔滿一活動冰

箱，我想吃完四十粒，心也無憾矣。

沿路拜望虎尾同鄉，冬強兄已經賣掉洗衣店，順便拜訪老客戶商店，和

老客戶談宗教信仰，經過太陽眼鏡行，準備好拿到老花度數，就來眼鏡

大賣店，買老花眼鏡，真要感謝西語老師，指導迷津，只有老花眼，買

一對便宜老花眼鏡即可。

After midnight one day, I felt an attack on my right side of tooth. Obviously

, it has been a decay of tooth gradually invading the nerve at the bottom. I

know what to do with it, I shall boil some hot moon bean soup with some

salt in it. It is a remedy which has passed on to me from my mother. Tooth

ach means too much Yang, fire, in my body, and must be cooling down by

some Ying staff, such as the moon bean soup, according to Chinese herb

medicine. Eventually, the nerve of that tooth will be dead and the tooth

can be extracted easily. I am still in my recovery from two cataract surgeries

; therefore, I consider that these two aging health issues are companies.

I have had several gum disease surgeries since late 1980 and still can not

save the some of the teeth. Finally, I went back to Taipei to have two sets

of fake teeth. I still cannot stop the further decay and this is the first tooth

issue after my fake teeth installation. I may have to arrange another trip

back to Taipei, Taiwan for my dentist appointment.

I asked my eye doctor, ophthalmologist, why both eyes after cataract procedure

have a different vision and color reflection. He and his nurse didn’t answer me

at the clinic; however, the next day I received an e-mail with a detail description

of reasons why people are losing their vision. Cataract is number one, and

diabetes is number 5 reason of the total of six. The information is quite a professional

knowledge which is not that easy for me to read through; however, I do have a

conclusion which is the sign of aging, and aging may occur along with several illness.

I must face it that I can’t recover even with the current help of medical technology

to become young again.

A famous classical scholar Han Yu of the Tang Dynasty on his eulogy to his deceased

nephew, he complained that his hair turned gray and his teeth were moving. In

addition to those two disaster, I used to have my left eye blurred all the time. Of

course I cannot be stressful due to the fact of aging, cannot pretend the I enjoy aging,

I must face the challenge of aging.

Since I am a good patient, my 2^nd eye doctor will continue seeing me as a regular

eye patient due to the sign of sugar crystal in my eyes. This is why my family physician

requires me to check with my eyes every three months.
