Immigrants help to build the U.S./Carlos Pueblo

Immigrants help to build the U.S./Carlos Pueblo

As an immigrant myself, it is very affectionate to discuss the immigrant issue
nowadays in the United States. Everybody lives in this great nation is either
an immigrant or a descendant of immigrant predecessors including the
aboriginal Indians. The American are from all over the world because that is
one of the best nations can offer a better living environment. We thank that
generation of immigrants have built such great paradise. One day, I was out
of the old port town of Ochorios of Jamaica and stopped at a fresh fruits shop
to meet the owner. He asked me where I was from originally and I replied.
He admired that the U.S. could attract all the talents worldwide for such a
long time.

My working experience as an insurance agent, I have run into many successful
Immigrants. Their stories have been in my mind on this issue. Be prepared,
hard working, and learning to the new system, etc. can help you to make it.
If you are not healthy, not young or aggressive, etc. shouldn’t try to immigrate
to this country because you are going to run into problems to the society or the
U.S. governments. It is a money issue that some people in the U.S. resent the
welfare funds are applied to the new immigrant. People don’t like to see the
others can get the benefit without working.

I have always noticed how new immigrants and their children to make their living
In the U.S., for instances, they work at the entrance level of all kinds of job such
as restaurants, home cares systems, factories, hospitals, schools districts, etc. or
there are some high income professionals due to their skills required by their
employers. They all contribute to the society and all help to build the U.S. I have
an insured whom I like to make an example. He has been in the U.S. in 1980
under his brother’s sponsor to get a permanent resident status. He has worked
as a vegetables and melons grower, washiteria owner and operator, apartment
owner and operator, and an air conditioning mechanic finally. His contribution
as an immigrant may not be significant; however, he generates three children
who all finish medical school and become physicians themselves. This is what I
admire the most.

Maybe one day we are going to see some more progressive administration would
more generous toward immigrants; however, it is just an idea and dream. We must
rely on ourselves to make it work in the U.S. and contribute to the country which
we have adopted as our home.
