Listening to Richard Clayderman’s piano/Carlos Pueblo

Listening to Richard Clayderman’s piano video on YouTube is one of my daily

favorite activity. I have been transformed from Japanese Enka to his piano lately

I don’t need to introduce him to my readers. I learned his story on Ballade pour

Adeline, the beginning of his fame during the early 70’s. One night on a

Transatlantic cruise, I requested this piece from a well learned piano performer

on the Atrium Hall. He responded gladly and played almost every night when I

was in front of his piano. I wrote about my request of the piece for my daughter

Christina Sales as a gift and she bowed on the balustrade of a Blue Lagoon

Restaurant on Deck 8 above the Atrium. Since then, I have missed both of them

on my cruise trips with that cruise line. However, my love of Clayderman’s piano

has increased and replace Enka on my daily menu of YouTube watching.

Many piano composers select him to perform their newly work release. He also

plays the popular hits. I used to repeat those of my favorite one by one on YouTube

library and now, I would listen to longer collection and search a new found favorite.

I can search again for the individual piece which catch my mind from fans who post

that piece individually on YouTube, i.e. Jarden Secret, Murmurs, Concerto pour

Jeune, etc. only a few example. There is one of the three pieces of collection which

I like, section 2, I have repeated many times of such 76 minutes piece.

The time has been changed nowadays. I am getting older and have been occupied

with YouTube programs such as political talk shows both in the U.S. and Taiwan.

My life is similar with my son Arthur, he would be hooked with his computer games

on the computer screen. We don’t really need to have regular contact with the

society and other human been. I may lose my ability to converse with the others.

However, I enjoy my simple life at the old age.

網誌中之里察克雷德曼鋼琴曲，也是我老年生活，一大節目，我之一日生活

，始於凌晨未破曉，開始網路節目搜索，歐亞洲讀者開始點閱部落格，我將

前夜想妥作文題目落實，開始流覽台灣美國政論節目，天亮後，例行晨步，

拜望愛犬愛貓，摘果，然後就是網誌觀看一整日夜，有詳閱政論，股市查看

，電子郵件，冗長嗑睡幾次，補足睡眠，克雷德曼節目，多半在午後和夜晚

，尤其是看完有趣電影之後。

認識克雷德曼，始於其成名曲，給愛德琳之巴蕾舞曲，經過一荷蘭管弦樂團

之女鋼琴手演出，我在谷歌字典上，查到此段逸事，該作曲家，譜上此曲，

在報上徵才演奏，克雷德曼尚在巴黎音樂學院，錄取演奏，一舉成名。兩年

前，我在郵輪上，巧遇一位鋼琴手，詢問他此事，他立即道出曲名，於是我

就每夜在七層甲板大廳，聽彼演奏，幾次點曲贈聽愛女，克莉斯汀娜，要克

在八層餐廳欄杆，俯首道謝，這是郵輪旅行美憶。

全球愛樂者，均能享受到克雷德曼之鋼琴小品，一曲均在四分鐘之譜，近代

法國作曲家，均請他發表箸作，他也演奏暢銷名曲，我在網誌影集中，寫上

芭蕾一字，就有一系列影集出現，先是反覆點閱，然後選擇其專集，遇有單

曲特別，必詳追曲名，向秘密花園等，他之演奏，輕快流利，又有大演奏團

為背景，非常特殊，最近我滯留於一專集，約七十六分鐘，集中各曲順序，

我似乎可以銜接，只尚未詳細曲名耳。

克雷德曼鋼琴曲之前，我沉醉於日本演歌，而且有漫長歴史，旅行日本時，

常常見到日本當地人士，舉碑紀念這些歌謠之作曲者和演唱者，這些歌謠，

其實都是詩歌，只是我之日文侷促，無法詳解也，網誌聽歌，已無旁務。

Christine, my pet dog friend Forest’s owner, feeds 5 pet cats on her driveway. She

also feeds squirrels, quails, and various birds on her driveway. I also find another

lady neighbor feeds practices the same habit on the other street. I mention an old

legend of guest eaters on the famous, the story of history by Shi Ma-chien on the

stories of 4 princes fed more than 3000 guest eaters during the War State Era before

the first Chinese Dynasty. They fed almost every one came to their residences for

shelters while these cats come to both houses for their daily meals without any

purposes for both cases. There were several incidents recorded by Shi about the

contributions of those guest eaters to help those princes to defend their owner’s

States against the eventual first Emperor of China, yet, both of my neighbors would

not expecting any return from their guest eaters.

Christine explains that 4 of her guest eaters are from her neighbors, Oreo and Lucy

are from the same home as Lily, the one answers my whistle, clap, and call. Lily

doesn’t come to eat with the other two. Floppy is a gray cat which comes in early

in the morning. Cats are usually have their own home, yet they come in once in a

while to take Christine’s offer and some are regular. She can identifies the new

comer who might be a lost one from the owner’s moving away. She hangs three

stylish strays on the fence for squirrels and birds guest eaters.

Joe is our neighbor on a street north of us. He likes to grow tomato, all kinds of

Tomato, and basil for his Italian cuisines. Joe’s wife keeps 9 cats at home, 2

guest eaters and 7 adopted eventually. She prepares 7 trays outside every

evening and two inside for insiders. I sometimes received tomato from Joe and

curiously asked him how he could avoid the squirrels and birds. He said that

he got help from cats and also pointed out that would be Yin and Yang, a

Chinese philosophy which meant the balance of cats and fruits invaders.

During my living in Taiwan, I had learned two similar stories about guest eaters

or similar situation passing on to the society including an experience involving

myself. During my sophomore year at the college, my Dad asked me to meet him

at a clinic to visit his boss at work. He had a by-pass or minor stroke and required

to an operation by a surgeon whom he helped during the great exodus in 1949

from China. He helped this youngster to complete the medical school similar to

the guest eater situation in history.

I was a guest eater during my high school and thereafter before my leaving of

Taiwan. My adopted mother was a classmate of mine at the elementary school.

His mother was a Manchurian physician and very generous to youngsters like

me to provide good meals when time was very tough.

美國人喜愛寵物，愛犬愛貓居多，寵物亦有生老病死諸八苦，我有兩女鄰居

，慈悲為懷，在家養客，飼養愛貓，非常有趣，其中一位，就是我之甜心愛

犬，佛瑞斯特女主人，克莉斯汀，除認養棄犬外，更照顧五隻愛犬，兩隻松

鼠，兩隻斑鳩，還有幾隻異鳥，清晨，她就將食盤，掛在籬巴上，放在地上

，動物們分匹，或是同時取食，互不干擾，我心感動，講述中國戰國時代，

食客逸事，她禮貌表示興趣。另外一位太太，家住北向一街，也是喜愛寵物

者，已經收養七隻愛貓，另外兩隻是食客，一共是九隻，僅兩隻室內，每日

準備貓飼料七盤在後院，其夫喜植蕃茄，我常問之，如何防範松鼠飛鳥？他

笑曰陰陽相克也，果實有貓群巡邏。

美國家庭飼貓犬，泰半為抱養，或是拯救棄置寵物，確實有些家庭，家境變

遷，無法負擔，愛貓性情溫和，約僅提供飼料和飲水即可，餘日則散佈於鄰

里，冬日天寒，也有車庫邊門敞開者，供小動物僻寒。愛貓食客，給我很大

啟示，此非大善事大功德，這是傳統之中國文明美德，在西方，則是基督文

明。

中國歴史，自戰國四公子而後，也再無養士食客故事，是無司馬遷之筆，或

無社會經濟窘迫之背景？中國獨裁者許多，養三千食客，亦不為過，何以讓

戰國四公子，專美中國歴史？其實，此為好客本性也，一直傳承下來。

我讀大學時，一日先父來台北探病其上司，約我到聯合門診中心，此中心為

國防醫學院系統，有別於台灣人之台大醫院系統。此上司為中國福州人，幫

助一位同鄉晚輩，攻讀國防醫學院，後來在聯合門診當大牌，上司因此有因

緣，這近食客關係。

我在小時，為同學母親疼愛，常受邀餐食，因此母為當地名醫，中國瀋陽市

人，甚有中國古典風範，幫助許多戰亂中人，令我銘感一生。如此食客風氣

，已經漸次失傳於近代社會，愛貓食客逸事，此功利掛帥日，鶴立雞群。

Watching political talk shows on the Youtube is my daily routine. I’ll watch the

show early from Taiwan most of the time, if I am not interested of the programs

and I’ll switch to MSNBC and CNN for the topics of Donald Trump, then, sometime

, I’ll watch the Voice of America Chinese programs or some Chinese Dissidents’

Programs, etc. Of course, I’ll introduce some other programs which are filled in

my daily life, such as the piano music for one particular performer, old Japanese

movies, and some interrupted Japanese Enka music.

Dr. Ko Wen-jer is running for the re-election of the Mayor of Taipei, the Capital

City of Taiwan. I have been his fan ever since his first Mayoral election in 2014.

He is a well learned scholar, philosopher, medical school professor, and mostly

a proven effective mayor. I am so released that more and more voters are

recognized his effort, hardworking and with vision, to improve the culture of

Taiwan. He is leading on the polls most of the time. Taiwan needs this kind of

leaders.

Every time, I have been attracted to the scandalous episodes of Donald Trump.

I can’t wait to vote his accomplished Republican Congressman from my District

out of office. I have to be careful to plan the downturn of the U.S. Economic

during the trade war with China. Both Hsi of China and Trump of the U.S. are

bully and we call them the monkeys after bath become crowned kings; therefore,

they don’t know what to do after the trade war. As long as the U.S. is not getting

into another war, I am alright with my pension mutual funds.

China has a sign of economic collapse lately after the beginning of the trade war.

I like to see how the current Chinese communist regime to take over Taiwan.

I doubt that a bully can get any territory without an actual invasion. That means

all pirated edition of fighter jets can be flying, all warships can sail, and mostly

the young generation of Chinese army are willing to fight. I like to see the Chinese

Communist be collapsed very soon.

每日24小時，一週七日，時間漫長，身體檢查首題，問道每日睡醒，是否

樂見新日生活？我已描述，我早期待拜訪幾位寵物，這是兩小時餘之清晨

散步，再來就是每日喜愛之規律生活，觀看網誌政治節目其一也，節目僅

涉及，台灣，美國，和中國三國高層政局變化，精彩有趣。

網誌影片演繹迅速，台灣節目，當日即張貼在網誌，有美國電台，甚至邀

請專題頭條新聞作者，前來節目說明，節目在台灣，則看台北市長選舉，

美國則看評論川普行為和政策，中國則看習進平表演。

我甚興趣於國家政治，台北市政，十分有趣，柯市長已經將市政，提昇到

國家維新之層級，台灣政界已經作筆記曰，改變成真，我是越看越喜歡，

台灣社會，男女老幼，均注意到如此改變。

美國之川普總統，沐猴而冠，令我體會到有名之三權分立，他之性行為，

令我質疑其宗教支持者之信仰，包括人道，還有提高關稅，提醒我俯首觀

腳，是否站穩位置，就是通貨澎漲，也提醒我歐洲行前，將郵寄選票申請

辦妥，以便投票。美國若不發動戰爭，經濟不會崩潰，川普好色小人，色

厲內荏，無發動戰爭之膽魄，這是長年喜愛歴史政治之經驗判斷。

中國更有趣，聽聞北京有政變，要取消習進平之，終身領導法律，中國人

喜愛顏面，網誌中，有幾台電視政論節目，美國中國異議人士，開始製作

節目上網誌，還有美國之音中文網，我都常觀賞。

觀看政治節目，我有心得結論，在台灣，柯市長要連任成功，繼續改變台

灣成真。在美國，年底推翻共和黨國會，迫使川普就範，拯救美國民主法

治。在中國，期待中國共產政權跨台。

Because that I have had Medicare Advantage coverage, I receive an annual physical

check up for my diabetes pills, actually, it is a semi-annual blood test to monitor the

blood sugar content concentration. Without such blood test, I can’t refill those three

medicine. The physical procedure is getting very efficient and takes less time than

before.

First, I have been check on my weight without shoes off that makes more sense.

No height is measured. Then, I was guided to a clinical bed for blood pressure

reading which is for my heart function. I was almost the earliest patient for my

physician; therefore, I waited a little bit for his arrival. He was glad to see me with

a warm handshake. He listened to my breathing and heartbeat and said good and

left room. Before that, I provided a glass of urine sample. Later, he returned with

a folder of living will paper work and a thick envelope for a stool sample to mail

in. I forgot to mention that I was required to answer 4 pages of my routine life

questions and draw a clock picture with numbers, with 11:10, and three names of

item which provided by the nurse. All of these procedure is really to save the

time of my physician and quickly identify any issue of my health physically and

mentally.

I was sent to 2^nd floor laboratory to be blood drawn for various tests which he

mentioned all purposes as he considered necessarily. He promised to send his

OK to the pharmacy on the same day. On my way out, I dropped by the office

to remind them that my physical was done and I should pick up the drugs two

days later.

I have been fortunate that I have been healthy so far and so long. The Medicare

Benefit is one of the best policy for American seniors. The regular physical

examination keeps the American in longevity and I estimate, based on insurer’s

guideline, I may live exceed age 80 and double verification with some elders in

the community. After answering all those 4 pages, I feel that I have had a very

happy life and almost stress free.

約是一月前，藥局來話，糖尿病藥需要補充，補充需要重新開方，由家庭

醫生許可，診所曰年度身體檢查。檢查手續簡單扼要，先是在等候室，回

答四頁問題，進入診斷室，量體重，血壓，驗尿，醫生聽心肺雜音，寒暄

兩三句，送我到實驗室抽血，一氣喝成，我到藥局，感謝提醒體檢，我需

要準備三個月藥劑，到歐洲旅行。

美國老人健康保險，是項德政，老人身體受到妥善照顧，所以體質尚佳者，

可以延年益壽，量血壓是針對心臟病，驗血尿則屬癌症偵測，這些手續之

改進簡化，與去年有別，尤其是四頁問題，就是過去醫生見病人之前奏，有

心理，行動，和生活等問題，一般護士，可以馬上提醒醫生注意。

醫生結束門診，給我兩書類，一為指定臨危授命者，一為糞便樣品信封，前

者我一直忽略，現在診所直接提供文件，免費存檔，解決問題，我在車上想

到人選，準備指定元兒，他說一定和姊姊商議，再做最後決定，此甚有趣，

我們輕鬆幽默談論生死。

此診所有內科醫生25位，女醫近半數，有幾處診所，散布休市，創辦人是

位英國醫生，也是一成功移民，因此診所，我更換三家保險公司。

Dealing with an old vehicle at hand is quite frustrating to me and I just can’t

get rid of it in my mind these days. Living in Texas, a huge territory without

a valid mass transportation system, people rely on private vehicle to move

around and car is getting old eventually. We just make a current readjustment

for our house hold vehicles for our four drivers. There is a 20 years old Q45 left

for me to manage. This old car has plenty of issues for me to handle. It is too

old and deteriorated among parts inside; yet if I pay enough money to repair

it, I can still keep it. I may need it for a Tuesday night tennis sometimes and I

don’t like to donate to somewhere else. I can’t leave it on the street in front of

our front lawn because I still required to pass the annual vehicle inspection in

order to purchase a tax sticker to drive the vehicle legally. Now, I still have an

engine service soon light on the board and therefore, the vehicle can’t be passed

for such inspection. I suddenly feel that I have insufficient knowledge to manage

my old car issue efficiently. This old Chinese philosophy pieces suddenly come

to my mind, my whole day’s thinking is less effective than a moment’s learning

by Kown Hsun, 250 B.C. of his famous prose the encouragement of learning.

I have been consulted with several people interested to answer my questions about

how to deal with such headache. Anthony, the owner of the garage to fix the car,

recommends me make a trip to a rural area of Texas where the requirement of

inspection is less tough than in Houston area. I am concerned if the current condition

of the vehicle is capable to make such distance. My son Arthur suggest me to wait

another 5 years to reach an antique vehicle status exempt from annual inspection.

An insured called for insurance policy and I asked him about the antique car. He

told me that people have such hobby must be good at body job and engine. Antique

car is not for driving but exhibition. I check with Google that in Texas, the State only

allows the owner to drive such vehicle to an exhibition and repair shop only.

So I pull out my file to call an old insured Joseph Y who used to own a garage to fix

the car body as long as the engine in Houston. He is retired. He was very good at

the restoration of damage vehicle body from collision by mixing cement type of

chemical and apply to the surface and smooth it before hardening of the cement

and sand it and reprint it. Before his retirement, his customers gave him some old

vehicles for him to keep in lieu of payment and the headache which I had. He said

that there is no time for him to deal with the old vehicle even if he still has it. He asks

me to watch Youtube about the Knot Sensors replacement video and I watch. It is

very difficult for me to do the job myself.

A long term learning is the school education which is essential to change people from

poverty class to a financial independent. I am running out of space to detail the thought.

幾週來，常為舊車去捨，繩繫心頭，久揮不去，我性節簡，不忍無謂浪費

，又極不願隨時花錢，修理舊車，內心掙扎不已。德州規定，車輛行駛，

需有年度安檢，始得購買車稅貼紙通行，舊車齡二十，再度五年，成為古

典車，則無需安全驗車，然規定古典車，僅能參加車展，抑或駛向車行修

理耳。於是我需重返舊日社會，懇請同鄉指點迷津，蓋吾嘗終日而思矣，

不若須臾之學也，此非古中國哲學乎？荀況之勸學篇。

金錢心煩無慮，我已經準備減少出外旅行。車檢部份，也有妙解，開車到

遠郊僻鄉，安檢鬆懈規定處，點露枝草，天無絕人之路也。

古典車理想，或曰此為人之嗜好，嗜者必專長車殼板金，其引擎內容設備

，則需隨時更新，今日舊車不比當年，內容簡單，容易處理，業餘者稍可

勝任，我手毫不靈巧，只好請教修車老師傅文結兄。

文結為化工博士，早年棄工而修車，設有車廠，專營板金，兼理一般修車

，生意興隆，退休多年，旅行北卡和亞莉桑娜州，幫助子女，照顧孫群。

聞道我之引擎服務紅燈，要我念出項目，車震顯示器，曰可觀看網誌影片

，了解其位置，並鼓勵我自行修理，此為高估也，閱過影片後，始了解何

以修理昂貴，蓋有無數拆卸，無數重新拼配也，其器在車蓋內正中央，取

出時，若一般重建引擎之規模，令外行者，嘆為觀止。

我並非需要馬上修理不可，請教友人，包括元兒，讓我了解我之處境，雖

非惑然開朗，卻也坦然面對，減輕焦慮，上句名言，馬上冒出腦海，吾嘗

終日而思矣，不如須臾之學也，須臾為短期片刻也，若是長期之學，則學

校也，曰教育，學校教育，能使窮人翻身。

A regular eyes checkup was missed due to a miscommunication with the doctor’s

office. A clerk was questioning if I would answer a phone call, or Amy would, or

Yancy, my emergency number. I explain that I have left my old life and moved

forward that nobody would call me. It is getting more complicate that I currently

only social with pet dogs in the subdivision and they don’t call. After hearing my

story of my new life, she says that I am a dog whisperer. Yes, there is a movie

called the horse whisperer and the dog part is much simpler, not that complicate

at all.

All what a dog’s request is a nice friendship especially in a nice neighbors’

household. There are plenty of foods, air conditioning, healthcare, and love human

parents, etc. I notice that the dog pays attention to the surrounding, squirrels and

human being, etc. My staring and hold draws their attention and they remember

after they hear my compliment worlds and get the response from their owners.

They become my friends and sweet heart and honey on my part. They can see me

in a distance and insist to wait for me. Some owners notice our relationship and let

the dogs out to the gate to greet me in the morning.

I am getting better and better to make this relationship and I get to know their owners.

We talk about the traveling and discuss about the dog’s mood that day, a very simple

relationship. My understanding is that most of the dog’s owners are well to do and most

of them rescue the stray dogs and help them back to a normal life. Basically, dogs are very

friendly and loyal to human friends.

We used to have a dog named Charlie for 16 ½ years. I still have had a found memory of

him. I was the one walked him every day back then. There is a legend story circling around

a Toyota dealership near us about Charlie’s pork chop bone stuck underneath a new Toyota

Camry which I went to complain for warranty. They pass on the story for generation and

Come back to me when I mention it. It was because that rats hid the left over on Charlie’s

tray underneath the new vehicle in the winter. The bone was stuck with a part of the paddle.

I quit on having a dog after Charlie because I hate to see the departure of us. It is a suffering

under the Buddhism, one of the eight sufferings in our life.

昨晨赴眼科診所，不巧卡布耳醫生爽約，護士曰連絡我三處電話不果，詢

曰我是否接電話？我連忙道歉，蓋我早已離群索居數十年，拋棄舊識，每

日生活寄託於，晨步拜望愛犬知己，南西也愛犬，出示手機相片，聞我所

述曰，我為愛犬知音，若中國古典文學，伯樂之相馬，愛美提起一影片，

愛馬知音，愛馬之低語傾訴者。

約是25年前，美惠姊府，愛犬產九胎而亡，遺一犬到我家，此愛犬與我

全家人甚善，給我甚多人生之啟示，甚至讓我珍惜人犬間之友誼。犬友直

接，毫無人之利害考慮，老遠就注意到知音之注目，就像美女，隨時觀察

愛慕者一般，我在郵輪上，有一百多位愛女，真是一語貫之，放諸天下皆

準之道理。

美國人愛犬，幾乎家家有犬，許多來自被拋棄者，也有來自購買，我到獸

醫診，必引起騷動，愛犬們爭風吃醋，原因是我的甜言蜜語，愛犬早已覺

察，其主人亦甚感激，安排愛犬與我相會，有時我因故不到，或是旅行缺

席，事後必詳加解釋，與愛犬交，增進我與家人之來往，尤其是子女，言

語間，都是必恭必敬。

凡是在家受疼愛之愛犬，必也落落大方，善於接往迎來之禮，而且有耐性

，靜候主人談話，所以我習得，需不時誇獎其耐心，若我當年工作，有此

修養，也不致於如此，顛沛流離矣。

The summer heave wave is really getting into my nerve now. I must hide inside

the house after the morning walk. The raining is only a temporary relief and we

also afraid of a heavy rain or hurricane. Fortunately, Texas is huge and with

sufficient power supply to maintain such surge demand of electricity after the

close down of South Texas Nuclear Power Plant. We are prepared to pay the

higher electrical bills during the summer.

We set the thermometer at 80 degree up stair with two fans blowing 24 hours

a day in my study room. I don’t mind with my ears pieces on for Yutube music

and I try not to think of my days without air conditioning. I am lucky and fortunate

indeed.

My son, Arthur, discusses my old car issue. He mentions that an antique vehicle

can be exempt from the annual inspection that will be 5 years away. Now, I do have

two alternative choice, one for the antique route and the other one will be to get

an inspection at a rural area of Texas would ignore the engine service soon light.

I went to have my regular 6 months eyes examination to check on my sugar sign

on eyes from my diabetes. I was not mad when I learned my doctor was not there

for the appointment, instead, I had had a good conversation with the chief nurse/

receptionist. After my showing off my relationship with pet dogs in my community

, she says that I am a dogs whisperer. I heard of the horse whisperer, as a matter

of fact that there is a movie called the horse whisperer. It is not just whispering

to the beloved animals, it is more like a good friend who knows the animal. I firmly

believe that dogs are appreciated of this friendship with people like me.

夏日炙熱，熱氣襲人，德州幅員廣大，停掉南德核電廠後，供電仍然無慮，
