The family warmness/Carlos Pueblo

The family warmness is essential to the outcome of a next generation. Our children

are different from the rest of the society; some fit well to the society and some can’t

; therefore, as parents we must understand their needs and come in to help and that

is the family warmness. I have observed the fact and practiced this at home from the

beginning of my own new family. My parents have 7 children during a hard time in

Taiwan before and after the War. The family was depended on a sole income from

our Dad’s salary from his job at a sugar plantation. I still remember well that our

daily grocery fund was NT$10 equivalent of 25 cent U.S. in 1958 to feed a family of 9,

yet our parents provided their warmness for every child to college education except

the eldest sister who became a school teacher.

6 of us have married and formed new families with children of our own. We pass on

the same warmness of the family value to our children, i.e. a good education and

hard working habit to face the society of their future world. We love our children and

still provide our help to them any time. We want to be sure that they are ready to

leave home and be independent; otherwise, we would rather to keep them home in

order to be sure of their safety. Our daughter, Michelle who left home this year to her

Austin house after her tenants quit the lease. We still go to Austin to help her do the

monthly house chore, i.e. the lawn more and clean the house inside, etc. Our son

Arthur stays home as we insist to cut the expanse and save.

My late mother always taught us the man’s responsibility at home. When we have a

a new family, we must provide adequate income to support the family especially when

a child is born. We build a discipline of the home economic and pass it on to our children.

I feel better myself when I read the struggle of money in the family in the rest of the

society and the world. I have so much understanding of a successful family in my insurance

business, the family warmness provided on every one of them.

It takes too long for any of the help from the government and nobody should wait for that

instead of help himself. I agree that the rich to pay more tax to help the government expanses

such as the education, welfare, and national defense, etc. We must provide our children the

opportunity to move on to their life smoothly by every possible way via the family warmness.

Only those children with abundant family warmness can enjoy their life in the society.
