Professor Ko’s re-election for the city mayor of Taipei/Carlos Pueblo

Professor Ko’s re-election for the city mayor of Taipei/Carlos Pueblo

For years, people in Taiwan call him Ko P means Professor Ko. Indeed, he has
been a professor at Taiwan University Medical School in Taipei, Taiwan for
years and just turned to a politician as the Mayor of the capital city of Taiwan
in 2014. He is running an election which is so impressed by voters all over the
nation and even a special 2 ¼ minutes report on him on Chinese National TV
to have an conclusion that he is running for the Presidency in 2020. We can
expect a dramatic change of politic between two nations across the Formosan
Straight after 2020 if he is elected.

There is nothing more interesting to me than watching KoP’s performance
every day on YouTube. For the time being, he has two teams working on his
duty, one is the regular city management from 7:00 am to 9:00 pm or later started
with a bus catching to a morning staff meeting at the city hall, then, a full schedule
of daily activity followed by a whole bunch of reporters to release the news on TV
internet media such as YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, etc. I don’t know if there is any
other politician in the world with such caliber. He is 59 years old and a tempered
surgeon frequently meets the life and death. He is also a philosopher of Buddhism,
and Confucianism, also an excellent writer with several hits on his books.

He can be back as a physician if he leaves the political career. It is very different from
most of the politician in Taiwan. He is attractive because that he talks frankly and makes
sense all the time. People criticize him for his outspoken statement, yet it is always upon
individual preference. People admires him and his wife of their distinguished graduation
of Taiwan University Medical School which is the most prestige one in all students mind.

His mother, Mrs. Ko, indicates that he has been a hard worker ever since his childhood.
When the opponent, his predecessor, criticizes him for not pay attention to the city’s
job, she indicates that her son is not doing nothing from early in the morning till late
at night. I kind of like her folky response. Gradually, people likes his performance as
a mayor and believes that he is changing Taipei and Taiwan in many ways.
