Up from a low income class family/Carlos Pueblo
At my
retirement, I have plenty of time to think of my life especially after watching
the old
Japanese movies which are well preserved on Youtube nowadays. I don’t dare
to mention
it as a class struggle; however, it has been a smooth journey in my entire
life up from
a low income class family in Taiwan to an financial independent class in
the United
States. My conclusion is that I have had plenty of opportunity to understand
the threat
of poverty, my parents’ persistent will to support the necessary school
education
, and coming
to the wonderful nation of America. I’ll explain.
I was lucky
to be accepted to enter a government sponsored institution to get a teacher’s
certificate
for the secondary school and obtained a teaching assistantship for my graduate
study in the
U.S. thereafter. After 23 years work, I have accumulated enough money to
maintain a
life style of on and off work for additional 17 years. With my frugal habit, I
am
very
confident to manage my retirement fund to the end of my life.
I don’t
watch television to be influenced by the commercial of rich and famous. I don’t
read
newspaper with a cost. I only watch free movies on the Youtube, political talk
show
of my
favorite both in Taiwan and the U.S., listen to piano and Japanese Enka music.
I
write my
journal on Google blog, and I visit my pet dogs friends and their owners in the
morning.
Every stage of my life, I give up my old circle of friends and try to live
without
any
influence of the old friends. Yes, I am not normal and I believe that there are
many
old men like
me.
Therefore, I
don’t need to worry about not enough money to pay the necessity. The rest of
our family
members are all in financial independent status. I am under medicare protection
for years,
Amy will be in 4 years, and both of our children are under their companies’
healthcare.
Thanks God, we’re healthy without major illness.
Once I am at
a better class of my life, I feel happier of my life and lucky that I have no
more
Anxiety at
all.
