 中美阿拉斯加會談／莊峻華

最近中美兩國在阿拉斯加州安克路治市，舉行會談，美方代表是國務卿和國安會首席顧問，中國部份是資深外交官，前駐美大使，和一位政治局委員兼外交部長，因此這不像是正式的兩國外交會談，白宮發言人，在一兩週前，始在記者追問下，始正式證實此事，而且強調這是美國務卿和國防部長，連袂週前訪問日本南韓後，有三國間正式照會過程，這是拜登新政府之策略，美國提出的主要會談內容是，新疆，香港，和台灣問題，按照中國之論調，這是中國之內政問題，應該一律免談，不得干涉中國內政，這位楊姓外交官英文流利，曾經在川普前朝末期，衘命來美接棒商談關稅，所以美國國務院不像是邀請中國官員來美國聽訓人權普世價值，而是中國要求美國來談關稅問題，拜登尚在評估中國貨物進口扣25%進口稅之政策，這是唯一不被取消之前朝命令，美國當然不急，武漢肺炎後，美國經濟大傷，購買力大減，需要發現金補助國民。

輿論均報導，會談不歡而散，統戰和愛好顏面之中國媒體，包括一些知名之世界新聞社，均強調一些花邊支節，像是中文翻譯，因為兩位中國代表，均以普通話發言，美方有位戴口罩灰白頭髮之翻譯官，我想她足夠處理兩中國官員之漢文持論，相反者，美國務卿，講的是一口清析流利，標準英語，中國年輕女翻譯官不翻譯，兩中國官員也可聽懂，當然講英文辯論稍難，美國國務院，實事求是，不會賣弄玄虛，中國人從毛澤東以下，都喜歡在外交上，賣弄中文，卻又寫不出像樣之政治理論，因為槍桿出政權，基本上不重視效率。

我聽到一句，抱怨美方邀請中方來會談，卻又在前一日，制裁兩中國官員，在新疆違反維吾爾人權，不是待客之道云云，令我啼笑皆非，國與國相爭外交，若戰爭之和談，何有待客之拘禮？會談散後，美國又和歐盟，英國，和加拿大，連合制裁在新疆滅種維無爾少數民族之中國官員，將來會漸漸擴大，這些官員和其家屬，移民到世界各國，均被禁止。

Discussing the racialism in the United States is very stressful; however, it is one of the most discuss subject now a day. The racialism exists almost everywhere anytime in human history. The current target is the Asian hate crime and the victim is Asian American. I understand this risk and still believe that immigrate to this great nation is still better than living in Taiwan under Chinese rule, of course, Taiwan is now get rid off Chinese Nationalist rule yet still under Chinese Nationalist colonial rules.

I have been fired for most of my jobs in my career in the United States. I count it about 23 years. Fired at Johnson Space Center as a chemist, three times as an insurance agent, one time as an English interpreter for Mandarin speakers, and one time as an official senior high school chemistry teacher, etc. I have never reasoned such unfortunate consequence as Asian hate racialism. It helps me to develop a diversified income career in my life to reach a financial independent family overall.

I am concerned with the violent upon my fellow Asian as well as many more of the innocent victim of the gun violence all over the country. I believe that is a kind of the mental illness and we don't know how to deal with it for the time been.

I take care of myself most of the time. I don't go to visit or live at any of the violent nations. I ran into a retired Japanese diplomat in Brussels, he mentioned the same Confucian policy. We don't live in such risky environment and must try hard to avoid to be hate and discriminated. I didn't dare to criticize Chiang Kai-sek in Taiwan because that my life was under his control. Protect ourselves first and vote out for those against the gun control. Without the gun control for the mental illness people, the massacre will keep on happening. This is why there are more Democrats than Republicans now in the United States.

世界到處有種族歧視者，美國最近有喬治亞州亞太蘭大屠殺案，一白種人持槍進入三家按摩店，射殺死八人，逃亡不久被捕，因為八人中有六位是亞裔美國人，引起全國關注這日益増加之仇恨亞裔種族歧視暴力案件，拜登總統和賀錦麗副總統，連忙趕到亞城致哀，美國持槍殺害無辜者案件，層出不窮，逼迫美國各州，設法令人擁槍自重，但仍舊無法避免災難，這是人生之苦楚。

我已甚年邁，自我放逐日久，清晨早起運動，九點半前，活動就結束，應該不甚曝露於公共場所，將來出外旅行，也是有選擇性，危邦不入，亂邦不居，注意個人安全，很快的將圓滿結束一生。

我沒有讓種族歧視者，有機可乘，就是珍重自己之安全，盡力而為。

All genuine talent merchants from all over the world come to live in the United States; therefore, American are good at business. I went to take my first vaccine shot at a drug store several weeks ago and received an e-mail survey request afterward. The drug store promised me a gift after completion of the survey if I would pay for the shipping fee. I selected a man's watch plus a pair of sun glasses for about six dollar shipping fee. after that survey, there was another one survey for my attended shot at their local and promised to give me a lady's watch, again if I would pay the shipping fee. I tried to get another one for Arthur yet was rejected twice for an unknown reason. I received a warning e-mail from my credit card bank to check on if I did make such purchase, $5.00. I did response it my card was still frozen till I called back.

Nearly two weeks later, I did receive both watches and a plain plastic sunglass. They are cute and I believe those are items which are left over and are out of fashion style. I don't mind to have these three items for about $11. I can put them right to use. Arthur chose the woman's watch for his pocket watch use. I wear that watch regularly from now own and the sun glasses to block the morning sun in he morning tennis. I don't think that the drug store has made any money at all; however, they do have made some promotion for their name brand and good will. They have had my e-mail address and my good impression of their services for that important vaccine shot.

American goods sold in the sore usually carry some kinds of warranty and also a return policy. One of Michelle's previous job description was to manage a computer hardware company's return inventory. That firm must hire a consulting firm to deal with their return products worldwide. The drug store does hire some internet survey company to get rid of their unsold inventory not only limit to watches.

I went back to the same drug store for Amy to take her first vaccine shot at another location. I warn her that she is going to get a soliciting survey after the shot. She doesn't like to get involved. I did wait for her inside the drug store. I see the same sun glasses on the stand asked for $20 a pair. I can see how important for a low price item to be marked up so much because in case of not sold in a period of time.

American are good at business; therefore, The U.S. is prosperous and economic strong.

疫苗注射後，藥局有電郵徵詢藥局服務滿意否？完成問卷者，有免費贈獎，只需付郵寄費，我因感激藥局給我注射機會，藉此表達滿意，選了一手錶，號稱價值一百美元，我只需繳費五元郵寄，加一太陽眼鏡，加兩元郵費，我是食髓知味，連續回答幾問卷，有一件通過，選一女錶給愛美，問券續來，但已為信用卡拒絕付款，因安全顧慮，但我確實收到一訂購回郵，十餘日後，果然連續接到兩手錶和一太陽眼鏡，女錶面太大，不夠袖珍，愛美婉拒，於是我讓元兒二選一，他選女錶曰，不戴手錶，僅當掛錶計時也。

我看兩錶，都是不銹鋼製，有一錶背列中國製造，一錶無製造國，是基本彈簧動力，我不相信價值近百元，大蓋是十元美金之譜，但戴在我這貴人之手腕，無人敢淺估其價，非也？我有一舊錶，是琳兒遺物，從車庫尋出，天美時日光能錶，隨我遊遍世界，但其機關複雜，無法調整慢分，只好心算調整，在國外則需加上國外時差之考慮，但也無礙，逼我使用老腦筋。

美國人能商，我相信這是賣不出去之存貨，被拒絕有可能是已無存貨，因我也換另張信用卡，仍舊被拒絕。美國人能商，商品有保證，使用信用卡，可已有保證失信之退款，我真的考慮過是否被騙？但想到錢數太低，有何需騙之有？這藥局非常箸名，巧克力糖一次半價出售，都超過五美元。美國人能商，善用廣告機會，讓我有深刻印像，像是專有客戶優待計劃，主要是賣藥，像我這種老頭，需要天天服藥，是大客戶機會，藥局參加拜登注射服務，除幫拜登提早完成百日注射一億人注兩次外，也幫忙處理幾商家之存貨，物盡其用，兩手錶也甚可愛。

再曰美國人能商，本週起我需暫停食牛排矣，蓋超市已經開始漲價，愛美也不喜歡我天天食牛排，我在家煎牛排，炒盤青菜，水煮馬鈴薯，比食一餐麥當勞便宜，這就是美國，美國人能商，是故國家富強。

Every year I must help to sweep fallen leaves in the front otherwise the street is getting ugly in compare with my neighbors. There are two huge trees on my front yard and leaves fallen on two separate time. The sugar gum leaves in the fall while the Arizona oak in the spring. Most of my neighbors hire landscape people to clean the mess while I still sweep the street with a simple broom and collect leaves into trash cans to be picked up by the trash. I was trained very well at schools in Taiwan. The student before the college is required to sweep the ground and the floor to make the campus clean. Also in the army, sweeping is one of the two basic training and the other one is the marching.

Chinese authority takes sweeping  seriously because that the national philosophy is based on the Confucianism. The emperors and their dynasties had rules China based on it for more than two thousand years, even in Taiwan when Chiang Kai-sek exiled to the island, he strictly enforced the Confucianism. The philosophy is merged into the Chinese language art lessons throughout all schools system. I still can recite the famous sentences about the sweeping at the beginning of any school learning. It says that the sweeping to cope with advances and retreats for the first lesson at the school then the second one is not that famous yet mentioning something about the civic manners, music, archery, reading, and the mathematics, etc. 

The Confucian scholar Chu Hsi ( 1130-1200) has promoted this sweeping discipline into one of the Confucius's writing, the Great Learning of four books. He believes that the sweeping can mature a learner how to behave himself either in advances or in retreats. There is a piece on the Great Learning which is said, there is nothing more visible that what is in secret, and nothing more manifest than what is in minute. Therefore, the gentleman is watchful over himself while he is alone. I have not learned anything like this in my western philosophical learning so far in my life.

One of my neighbors came to great me for my sweeping effort and I told him that the sweeping fallen leaves like gathering dollars bills. He laughed. He hires people to manage his yard and street.

 灑掃應對之節／莊峻華

最近我又開始需要打掃街道，因為亞利桑娜橡樹葉，開始落葉，灑遍屋前街道，我們需要處理，否則懶散難看，我說掃落葉，像是撈鈔票一樣愉快，鄰居覺得有趣，其實收拾打掃落葉，是中國儒家之基本教育方法，我一直以為語出孔子，其實是南宋朱熹，這句話是一對，灑掃應對應對進退之節，禮樂射禦書數之文，首句真是澈底執行，從小學到高中，當兵整整兩年，都在灑掃應對之磨練，所以老年掃地，也不過是重拾掃把而已。

灑掃是人生應對之初步訓練，因為髒亂不除，難以為務，有礙觀瞻，應對和進退是慎獨之理想，需能體會，這是儒家思想，慎獨出自大學，灑掃應對出自於朱熹之大學序文，我也渡過人生七十餘年，始能體會其真義和實際。

散步鄰居路過，看我服飾整齊，打掃街道，因我在清晨網球散步間，或是網球居歸來，就開始打掃，我們兩家正相對，前院各有兩株巨樹，我們家秋天香楓開始落葉，冬殘日常綠橡葉開始更換，非常煩人，我不忍見愛美掃地，所以老漢出征，我在日本東京旅行，也經常看到日本老者掃地，我想多數是自願工作，打發多餘之老年。

台灣之學校，重視儒學，所以我們每天都需要安排掃地，我一直掃到高中畢業，師大有專職工友，打掃教室，但當兵時，又開始灑掃應對，先是兩次新兵訓練各三個月，再來就是下部隊，每天都要掃地打掃廁所，所以無所謂工作之貴賤，只要有工作，有地可掃，人生亦足矣。
